Zelensky: Russian army violates ceasefire 1,820 times
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that as of 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the Russian army had committed 1,820 violations of the ceasefire, including shelling, attempted assaults, airstrikes, and the use of drones.

According to Ukrinform, the president reported this on Telegram.

“As of today, we can confirm that the Russian side has disrupted the ceasefire regime. Based on the evening reports from our military and intelligence, we will decide on our further actions,” Zelensky emphasized.

He noted that following yesterday’s brutal strikes on Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kramatorsk, and other cities and communities, the Russian army continued active combat operations and terrorist shelling throughout the day.

“Russia’s choice is an obvious spurning of a ceasefire and of saving lives,” Zelensky noted.

He stated that assault operations are ongoing across all key sections of the front; since the start of this day alone, the Russian army has carried out nearly 30 such assaults. More than 20 airstrikes involving over 70 aerial bombs were recorded just last night and this morning.

The president reported that last night the Russian army also carried out strikes using various types of drones. In particular, the Ukrainian Defense Forces neutralized nearly ninety combat drones alone. There were also missile strikes.

“In total, as of 10 a.m., the Russian army had committed 1,820 violations of the ceasefire regime – shelling, attempted assaults, air strikes, and the use of drones,” he underlined.

He reminded: Ukraine has clearly stated that it will respond in kind, given Russia’s persistent appeals through the media and social networks requesting a “ceasefire” during the Moscow parade.

“It is obvious to any reasonable person that a full-scale war and the daily murdering of people are a bad time for public 'celebrations'.”

Russia must end the war it is currently waging. Even with the internet shut down and communications blocked, it is perfectly clear to most Russians that their leadership can come out of the bunker and choose peace. The Russian side has our diplomatic proposals, and the only thing needed is Russia’s willingness to move toward real peace,” the president stressed.

As reported by Ukrinform, Volodymyr Zelensky previously stated that Ukraine had not received any official signals from Russia regarding a cessation of hostilities, despite social media posts. Despite this, Kyiv is declaring a ceasefire starting May 6 and calling on Moscow to move from rhetoric to concrete actions.

Today, May 6, two drones were reported to have struck a kindergarten building in the central part of the city of Sumy. In the Novobavarskyi district of Kharkiv, two people were injured, and a fire broke out as a result of a Russian attack this morning.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that air defense forces shot down 89 of the 108 drones used by the Russians to attack Ukraine starting on the evening of May 5.
