The days of slime aren't quite behind us, there's a new squidgy toy in town. NeeDoh, a fidget toy produced by Schylling, has risen to TikTok fame in the last few months, prompting retailers to sell out of the small gelatinous gizmos incredibly quickly, further fuelling the viral craze.

What exactly is NeeDoh? In short, it's a range of palm-sized stress toys that can be squished and squeezed but, crucially, come in a variety of different shapes and designs. As 'rare' special editions fill FYPs, the NeeDoh craze has well and truly taken off and the spongey plastic is well on its way to becoming one of the best toys of 2026.

Why is NeeDoh stock so hard to find?

As we've seen with everything from Pokemon cards to Labubu, once a TikTok trend takes off it only takes a few seconds for resellers to jump on the bandwagon. The speed at which NeeDoh climbed the popularity ranks makes it a prime candidate for price increases from third party sellers. That means everyday stock in stores across the world suffers.

This is a self-feeding cycle as well. The harder something is to find, the more popular it becomes, further fuelling stock disruption. NeeDoh is currently in the middle of its own cycle, with Schylling CEO Paul Weingard telling Business Insider "within the first nine weeks of the year, [they]'d sold through the whole year's inventory."

Where can you buy NeeDoh?

NeeDoh is sold at a number of online retailers, but you'll need to make sure you're buying the real thing. Another unfortunate side effect of popularity is fakery, and there's no shortage of imitators across sites like Amazon and Walmart. Look for listings provided direcly by Schylling or sold via stores that don't allow third party sellers on their sites.

Amazon

Amazon

Amazon is Schylling's main retailer, so it's best to start your search with the official storefront.

Walmart

Walmart

If you're heading to Walmart, make sure you filter your search to only populate with results sold by the retailer itself. This will remove third party listings so you're safer from marketplace resellers.

Target

Target

Target is best for in-store opportunities, with many branches keeping their stashes either on the shelves or around the counters.

Walgreens

Walgreens

Walgreens is another sleeper hit, often sticking NeeDoh stock online. You'll also find some brick & mortar stores with inventory as well.

Barnes & Noble lists NeeDoh on its site, but a lot of these are only available in store.

Staples is a slight dark horse in this race. A lot of its stock is available for pick up in store, but you'll need to move fast to secure stock.

Right now, the hunt is on for the NeeDoh Jellyfish and Dr Pepper limited edition, but the classic Nice Cube is always a top seller. Part of NeeDoh's appeal is the swathes of designs, characters, and colors available (this really is a dream TikTok product).

That means both the Jellyfish and Dr Pepper releases are seeing massive price surges on reseller sites, but even less popular squishies are running off the shelves faster than they can be stacked.

The NeeDoh Popsicle and Ice Cream Cone are also fast becoming some of the most popular releases as well.

We have NeeDoh at home

NeeDoh does have its own particular consistency that isn't shared by softer sensory toys. While stress balls typically offer a foamy feel, there's a harder tension underneath a NeeDoh's surface. That means alternatives aren't always going to give you the same resistance in the hand.

A good way to find cheaper (or actually available) alternatives is by searching for 'sugar ball' or 'slow rising' toys. The former is going to give you that extra resistance when initially squeezing the toy, while the latter provides a softer resistance that can take a little more force overall.

There are also a number of brand names circulating around the NeeDoh hurricane; Speks offers stress toys with a softer squish smooth matte texture with more stretching power while Taba Squishy go even softer for a more pliable feel. Note that the latter is highly imitated on Amazon, you're best off buying direct from the site. Curious Minds Busy Bags are also pretty respected for a similar thickness and firmness to NeeDoh.
