Tyla Announces Sophomore Album 'A*POP' Arriving This Summer

The South African artist revealed the July 24 release date for her highly anticipated follow-up LP through an official album trailer.

Rising star Tyla has officially confirmed plans for her second studio album, with the project scheduled to debut on July 24. The announcement came via an album trailer released on Wednesday, which positions the upcoming record as "African," "Unapologetic," "Confident," and "Global" in scope and vision.

The new album follows Tyla's self-titled debut and builds momentum from recent commercial successes, including the standout single "Chanel" and her Y2K-influenced partnership with Swedish artist Zara Larsson on the track "She Did It Again."

During a February interview with Rolling Stone, Tyla provided insight into her creative evolution between albums. "The first album was very hectic—it was a rush, like sudden overnight craziness," she explained. "Now that I'm settled in, I feel like I know more about my direction and what I want to do and say."

She continued, emphasizing her confidence in the material: "I just knew that as I lived through the making of the album, it was going to fall into place, which it did. I feel like I just did something really fresh and so Tyla."
