Tulsi Gabbard To Resign As Director Of National Intelligence
UPDATED: Tulsi Gabbard plans to resign her post as director of national intelligence, the latest Trump administration cabinet member to depart.
Gabbard informed the president of her plans in a meeting in the Oval Office on Friday. A source confirmed her plans to leave her post.
Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman and Fox News contributor, said that she wanted to be with her husband as he battles a rare form of bone cancer.
“He faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months,” Gabbard wrote in her resignation letter, which was obtained by Deadline and which she later posted on social media. “At this time I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle.”
