‘The Housemaid’ Heading To Broadway: Lionsgate Thriller To Be Adapted By Bekah Brunstetter
A stage adaptation of Lionsgate‘s psychological thriller The Housemaid is in development, the studio announced today, with playwright Bekah Brunstetter (The Notebook) attached.
Producers are Melting Pot, led by Simon Friend and Hanna Osmolska (Life of Pi, Broadway‘s upcoming Paranormal Activity). Based on Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel, The Housemaid was most recently adapted for the 2025 film, which has grossed nearly $400 million at the worldwide box office.
The stage production marks the latest step in the studio’s continued expansion of The Housemaid franchise, with The Housemaid’s Secret, based on the next book in the book trilogy, expected to enter production later this year for a global theatrical release on December 17, 2027.
