The Battening Down quest in Arc Raiders is best completed in the wrong order, so don't repeat my mistake
- Where to photograph the cracks forming in the seawall
- Sample the Shoreline near the hotel
- Fix the leaking oil pipe in the northeast
- Battening Down rewards
The Arc Raiders Battening Down quest has you looking for locations to photograph cracks at the seawall, sample the shoreline near the hotel, and fix a leaking oil pipe. That doesn't sound too hard, but with Riven Tides being a large and open map - especially on the coast - there's a lot of flat land to search for what you need. I've managed to find it all, so if you want to know exactly where to go I've got all the information and maps you need below.
While I've listed all the steps in the order they appear in the quest, my advice here is to start with either the oil pipe or the hotel beach. The three objectives form a line on the beach, but if you start with the first option to photograph the seawall you'll actually be in the middle and have to double back to get everything. If you pick the pipe or the beach first, then you can do it all in one go.

There's a lot of seawall to check if you want to photograph the cracks, so head straight to the location on the map above to save time. Strangely, considering the massive holes and breaches all along the wall, the cracks you actually need a snap of are barely visible.
Just find this area on the map and you should see a prompt to take the picture when you get close enough. Grab the picture and move on.
Sample the Shoreline near the hotel in Arc Raiders
In longstanding Arc tradition, the objective to sample the Shoreline near the hotel is actually miles away from the hotel, so don't head there. Instead, get to the location on the map above and head out to sea until you find some piles of seaweed.
Head to one of the seaweed patches to make a prompt appear, which will let you sample it and tick this objective off.

The objective to fix the leaking oil pipe in the northeast is probably Batten Down's most annoying job. This entire area is flat, open, and full of pipes in all shapes and sizes. Head to the area marked on the map above and find these half buried pipes to save time.
When you find the right bit of the correct pipes shown above, a prompt will appear letting you fix the leak and tick this task off.
Arc Raiders Battening Down rewards
For all your handywork and repairs, you'll get two rewards for completing Battening Down:
