Nintendo boss Shigeru Miyamoto doesn't want dirty jokes in his Mario movies, but won't rule out a future appearance from Wario

Mario creator and Super Mario Galaxy Movie executive producer Shigeru Miyamoto says he won't rule out an appearance from Wario in a future Mario film.

"I think of children as 'adults, they just don't have as much knowledge yet,'" Miyamoto explained (Via NintendoLife). "That's why I don't want to make them laugh with dirty jokes, and I've even given Chris a ban on dirty jokes (laughs). Oh, that doesn't mean Wario won't be in it, though."

Wario made his first appearance in the 1992 game Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins as the final boss. He is, as his name suggests, the evil version of Mario, donning much more sinister facial features and inverse costume colors (see also: Waluigi). He's also the protagonist of his own series, Wario Land, in which the main villains are Captain Syrup and Rudy the Clown.

Some games see Wario as purely a buff, evil Mario who's there to cause some chaos, with others seeing him as a weird little dude who makes tons and tons of fart jokes. I respect Miyamoto for wanting to keep them out of the feature-length Mario movies.

Continued Miyamoto: "Action is something that both adults and children can understand equally, so I think if we make it with action as the main focus, we can create a film that won't be boring."
