MrBeast Production Companies Face Lawsuit Over Sexual Harassment and Pregnancy Discrimination Claims
A former employee has filed federal charges alleging a toxic workplace culture marked by gender-based mistreatment and inappropriate conduct by company leadership.
Two production companies under the control of YouTube personality MrBeast are now defendants in a lawsuit brought by ex-employee Lorrayne Mavromatis. The complaint, filed in North Carolina federal court, accuses MrBeastYouTube and GameChanger 24/7 of fostering an environment characterized by sexual harassment, emotional distress, and discriminatory practices related to pregnancy.
Allegations of Systemic Gender Discrimination
According to court documents, Mavromatis contends she was subjected to differential treatment compared to male staff members, including exclusion from meetings dominated by her male counterparts. The filing further asserts that demeaning conduct toward female employees permeated the organization, reaching senior management levels.
The complaint references a particularly troubling incident in which male executives purportedly ridiculed female contestants from BeastGames for lacking access to essential feminine hygiene products and clean clothing during their participation in the show.
Alleged Harassment by Former CEO
Mavromatis identifies James Warren, the companies' former CEO, as the source of direct sexual harassment. According to the lawsuit, Warren required her to attend private meetings at his residence while making remarks about her appearance. When Mavromatis raised concerns about MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson's professional name) refusing to collaborate with her on certain assignments, the documents claim Warren responded by characterizing her as a woman whose physical presence had "a certain sexual effect on Jimmy." Warren allegedly further commented that Donaldson became uncomfortable around attractive women, with an accompanying innuendo about bathroom visits.
Retaliation and Wrongful Termination
Following her complaints about the hostile work environment, Mavromatis asserts she faced punitive measures. Her position as head of the Instagram team was eliminated, and she was reassigned to what employees referred to as the division where "careers go to die." The company reportedly dismissed her concerns as unsubstantiated.
After taking leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act for pregnancy-related reasons, Mavromatis was terminated within three weeks of her return. Management attributed the dismissal to her being "too high caliber" for the demoted role—the same position she had been moved to following her harassment complaints.
Legal Remedies Sought
Mavromatis is pursuing lost wages, lost benefits, reinstatement, front pay in lieu of reinstatement, liquidated damages, compensatory damages, punitive damages, injunctive relief, pre- and post-judgment interest, and reasonable attorneys' fees and costs.
As of April 22, 2026, representatives for MrBeast have not provided a response to requests for comment on the allegations.
