Level of training in Air Assault Forces is high, but some issues still remain – Syrskyi
According to Ukrinform, Syrskyi stated this on Facebook after visiting a training ground in the rear area of one of the Air Assault Forces brigades.
"In general, the level of organization of training is high. The instructors have real combat experience and leadership qualities, which allows for high-quality professional training directly at the base of a combat unit. Training is constantly adapting to changes in modern warfare tactics. Most importantly, commanders understand the importance of this area and are truly committed to it," Syrskyi noted.
He added that ahead of a meeting on training quality, he had visited training units, where he familiarized with living conditions, material and technical resources, and the organization of the training process, and also spoke with cadets, officers, and instructors.

At the same time, he noted that during a videoconference with representatives of combat units, military command bodies, and all components of the Defense Forces, participants discussed ways to resolve existing issues in the training system.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening the instructor corps, as, according to Syrskyi, the level of a soldier's training directly depends on the instructor.
"I heard reports on staffing instructor positions in training centers and combat units. We are also continuing to expand the capabilities of the Instructor Training School, created with the support of the 'Come Back Alive' foundation. Basic-level instructor training is ongoing both in Ukraine and in partner countries," he emphasized.
The Commander-in-Chief also noted that in the first quarter of 2026, 35 expert groups worked in training centers to monitor the quality of training programs, and this work will continue.
"During the meeting, there was also an exchange of practical experience. Chief sergeants of the 3rd Army Corps and the 2nd Corps of the National Guard 'Khartiia' reported. We are studying their best practices, particularly in improving basic military training. If proven effective, these solutions will be scaled across all Armed Forces of Ukraine," Syrskyi assured.
In addition, he said that nearly all speakers emphasized the need to increase instructors' motivation by raising their pay.
"This is a valid position. We will raise this issue at the level of the Ministry of Defense. A professional instructor means a well-trained soldier. And a well-trained soldier means a saved life, a completed combat mission, and a strong state. I thank all servicemen who train and defend Ukraine," he concluded.
As Ukrinform reported by , Syrskyi also visited combat zones and awarded commanders of military units and subunits.
