Jackson White, Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton & Jason Isaacs Among Final Additions To ‘Gundam’ Movie From Netflix & Legendary
EXCLUSIVE: Netflix and Legendary have kicked off production on their live-action Gundam movie, adding six to the cast: Jackson White (Tell Me Lies), Nonso Anozie (Sweet Tooth), Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton (Under the Bridge), Oleksandr Rudynskyi (The Agency), Ida Brooke (Dune: Part Three), and Jason Isaacs (The White Lotus).
Character details are under wraps. As previously announced Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo lead the ensemble, which as we reported, also includes Shioli Kutsuna, Michael Mando, and Gemma Chua-Tran.
Gundam is the long-running multimedia franchise from Bandai Namco Filmworks that pioneered the sci-fi subgenre known as “mecha,” revolving around giant fighting robots. While plot details for the film have previously been kept under wraps, we’re now told that it follows rival mech pilots fighting on opposing sides of a decades-long war between Earth and its former space colonies. As shifting allegiances and a growing threat set them on a collision course for one another, they’re pulled into a high-stakes race across the stars that could decide the fate of humanity.
