European Congress of Ukrainians calls on EU to strengthen support for Ukraine's European future

The European Congress of Ukrainians, together with Ukrainian communities abroad, appealed to European leaders and representatives of EU institutions with a call to support Ukraine's European future.

The European Congress of Ukrainians stated this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"On the occasion of Europe Day, the European Congress of Ukrainians and Ukrainian communities in EU Member States addressed European political leaders and representatives of EU institutions with a statement in support of Ukraine's European future," the statement reads.

The statement emphasizes that Ukraine is already an integral part of the European space, as it has been resisting Russian aggression for more than ten years and defending values shared with Europe — freedom, democracy, and the rule of law.

The European Congress of Ukrainians stresses that Ukraine's European integration is a natural continuation of its historical and political choice, as well as a contribution to strengthening the security, stability, and development of all of Europe.

It also highlights Ukraine's potential in the areas of food security, digital technologies, innovation, and defense solutions.

The European Congress of Ukrainians additionally emphasized the principle "A strong Ukraine means a stronger Europe," pointing to the mutual benefits of Ukraine's future EU membership.

As Ukrinform reported, an official reception on the occasion of Europe Day took place in the Parliament of New Zealand, attended in particular by representatives of the Ukrainian community in Wellington.
