Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed a drone deal during a meeting with King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Ukrinform, the head of state shared details on Facebook.

"I had a good and productive conversation with King of the Kingdom of Bahrain His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa," Zelensky said.

The parties discussed the security situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region, as well as key challenges and opportunities in the security sphere. They also talked about strikes from Iran against Bahrain and other countries, and the situation around the Strait of Hormuz, Zelensky said.

According to him, "our country is facing similar terrorist strikes almost every day, and our people have relevant experience in full-scale defense. Ukraine is ready to share this security expertise with Bahrain and help strengthen the protection of life." He added that he proposed concluding a drone deal and expanding cooperation with Bahrain, with both sides agreeing that their teams would work out the details.

The two sides also paid special attention to developing bilateral economic relations and cooperation in the agricultural sector.

Zelensky briefed the King on the situation in Ukraine and ongoing diplomatic efforts to achieve a just peace.

"We also raised the issue of opening embassies in each other's countries. Our cooperation holds significant potential across many dimensions, and we must make sure to realize it. Thank you," he added.

Zelensky earlier described preparations for signing a drone deal with the European Union as a strategic priority.
