Zelensky: From September 1, all schoolchildren must be provided with free hot meals
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on Telegram following a meeting with local leaders from the Rivne, Volyn, and Zhytomyr regions, according to Ukrinform.
“We discussed support for education and children separately. A clear task for government officials is to ensure free hot meals for all schoolchildren starting September 1,” he noted.
Zelensky noted that the issue of building new schools and completing those started before the full-scale invasion—especially in communities with high birth rates—will be addressed, as well as the issue of providing school buses to educational institutions.
“Road repairs remain a key priority. The government has been instructed to accelerate this work,” the President stated.
He noted that the main focus of their meeting was on security in the northern sector.
Zelensky is convinced that Ukrainians must be strong. Therefore, strengthening defense, building fortifications, and ensuring the readiness of Ukrainian troops for any scenario are priorities, he explained.
