President Volodymyr Zelensky said after a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan, on the sidelines of the 8th European Political Community Summit, that this was the first visit by a Ukrainian president to Armenia in the past 24 years.

Zelensky stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"I had a good meeting with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. Thank you for the invitation to the European Political Community Summit. This is the first visit by the President of Ukraine to Armenia in the past 24 years. It is important that we are restoring active dialogue between our countries," Zelensky noted.

According to him, the talks focused on the regional situation, security challenges and threats, as well as diplomatic efforts to achieve real peace.

The President added that they also discussed the development of economic partnership between Ukraine and Armenia.

"I proposed resuming the work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and holding its next meeting this year in Kyiv," he said.

As reported, today Volodymyr Zelensky is taking part in the 8th European Political Community Summit in Yerevan.
