Woman arrested after tattooing a 22-month-old on the arm, say police
A woman in Kentucky has been arrested after she allegedly tattooed a toddler.
Law enforcement officers in Adair County were called on Monday for a reported case of child abuse in the city of Columbia.
When police arrived, they spoke with the woman at the center of the complaint, 27-year-old Brook McDaniel.
They asked her if she had given a toddler a tattoo. McDaniel said that she had and explained that she was tattooing her own leg when the child walked up and stuck their arm in the path of her tattoo gun.
Police said that the child had a black mark consistent with tattoo ink on their right forearm and that there was redness around the area.

Several witnesses told police that McDaniel gave the child the mark and noted that the child had asked her to do so. However, it is illegal in Kentucky to tattoo anyone under the age of 16.
McDaniel was arrested and has been charged with fourth-degree assault-child abuse.
She was booked into the Adair County Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
