Where to find Necrolei Cysts in Subnautica 2
Subnautica 2 Necrolei Cysts may not sound nice, but they're kind of pretty and are essential in crafting, especially when you need a Rebreather. Breathing underwater doesn’t come naturally to humans, after all - a fact Subnautica 2 makes very clear by throwing up a soft black vignette every time you decide to get a little greedy. When passing out below 100m gets old, you'll want to craft a Rebreather to negate the health-zapping hazards of deep sea exploration.
To build the Rebreather, you’ll need to manufacture Strong Acid, which requires locating Necrolei Cysts and slotting them into the Processor crafting station back home. Thankfully, these odd fruit-shaped items aren't located too far from your home base. Here’s everything you need to know about where to find Subnautica 2 Necrolei Cysts and how to harvest them when you arrive.
Where to find Necrolei Cysts in Subnautica 2
To find Necrolei Cysts in Subnautica 2, head north-northwest from your lifepod for around 450m. You’ll know you’re in the right area when you spot giant turquoise and pink neon anemones nearby, just 20m beneath the surface. Once you arrive, you can spot the Necrolei Cysts among the anenomes by looking for green rotund fruits called Stilt Orbs, which are held up by glowing purple tentacles.
All you need to harvest Necrolei Cysts is your standard Survival Multitool. Specifically, aim at the hair-like flower on top of the Stilt Orb, and interact to receive a cyst. When you run out, you can find more Stilt Orbs by heading further down the ravine that flanks the cluster of anemones, so if you can’t immediately find Stilt Orbs, keep pushing North. As we mentioned, Necrolei Cysts are a key component in the making of Strong Acid, so be sure to harvest as much as you can carry before heading back to the lifepod.
