Warhammer 40K Armageddon box set for 11th Edition revealed, and it's crammed with incredible models

The Warhammer 40K 11th Edition Armageddon box set has finally been revealed in full after weeks of teasing, and it's crammed to the rafters with goodies – from a wonderfully ridiculous walking Ork gun mech to a brand-new Space Marine Land Speeder.

Following the reveal of the set back at AdeptiCon, publisher Games Workshop held a livestream to unbox the entire Armageddon box set ahead of the Warhammer 40K 11th Edition launch. Interestingly, there's no terrain in here unlike Age of Sigmar's equivalent box set, Skaventide, or the Ultimate version of the 40K starter sets; that space is reserved for models.

And oh man, those models. You're getting 700 to 800 points' worth of Orks and Space Marines here, which equals a new Combat Patrol for both sides (e.g. a compact, play-out-of-the-box game type for Warhammer 40K). Some of these have been rumored for a while, but there are a few delightful surprises as well – including a brand-new Ork Wartrakk vehicle to go against a revised Space Marine Gravis unit.

Here's a breakdown of everything you're getting.

Orks

Ork Warboss

The grand leader of your Ork army, and a thoroughly big lad. He towers over the rest of your army.

Ork Bigboss

The next leader down on the rung from the overall army Warboss, this guy can provide fearsome buffs to your rank and file.

Ork Bannernob

As the name would suggest, this is an Ork wielding a hodge-podge battle standard. This should inspire your troops to greater acts of wanton violence, as is the Orky way.

Ork Painboy with Grot Orderly

I'm sure this Ork medic has all the necessary medical accreditation needed to take care of our boys. Er, right? Orks aren't exactly known for self-care of any kind, so expect him to deal just as much pain as he heals.

Ork Weirdboy

We've already seen this psyker Ork wizard in previous teases, but I'm certainly pleased to see him again. For me, he's the best model of the bunch.

Ork Big Mek Dakkarig

The centerpiece of the Ork army is undoubtedly the Mek Dakkarig, which is essentially a giant walking turret that should cause all sorts of problems for those pesky Space Marines.

Ork Wartrakk

One of the best things about Orks as a faction is their madcap vehicles, and we're getting a revised version of the venerable Wartrakk for the Armageddon box set. It looks like it'll fall apart at the slightest nudge, which just makes it more endearing.

Ork Boyz

Your classic rank-and-file Orks have been completely revamped for 11th Edition and the Armaggedon launch box, and it's a very welcome upgrade. They look incredible.

Ork Gretchin

The lowest of the low. These are cannon fodder extraordinaires.

Space Marines

Space Marine Captain with Relic Shield

OK, now we're cooking. There was some consternation from fans that the Space Marine side of the box wasn't as spicy as its Ork counterpart, but I think this guy (who leads the Space Marines in the box) starts balancing the scales back again.

Space Marine Chaplain with Jump Pack

Like the Weirdboy, we've seen this model before - but damn, it still looks phenomenal. It's one of the most eye-catching parts of the box, and provides ample gothic flavor for the Space Marine army in the Armageddon box set.

Space Marine Librarian

This one caught me off guard. I'd expected a new Space Marine Captain to lead our pack along with a banner bearer, but a Librarian (basically a Space Marine wizard) wasn't on my bingo card. I'm not complaining, of course; it's a phenomenal model with a very dynamic base that's all kinds of anime.

Space Marine Ancient

Space Marines are all about gaudy heraldry, and it doesn't get more gaudy than a dirty great banner. This things is a glorious show of sculpted detail specific to Armageddon.

Space Marine Land Speeder

This might be the most pleasant surprise of the entire reveal so far as I'm concerned. This Land Speeder revamp brings a tangible kinetic energy into play thanks to the 'tactical rock' it's sitting on.

Space Marine Eradicator Squad

The Space Marines of the Armageddon box set need some heavy firepower to overcome the Orks they're going up against, so it's a good thing a new Gravis-armored unit is up for grabs.

Space Marine Vanguard Veteran Squad

This Space Marine force seems made to get into close combat quickly and outmanoeuvre the foe, so the new Vanguard Veteran Squad (who were in dire need of a revamp, let's be honest) will be key to that strategy.

Space Marine Intercessor Squad

Last but not least are the Space Marine rank and file, the reworked Intercessor Squad that allows you to armor your troops in various styles from a variety of eras. This represents the hasty battlefield repairs they've had to make.

Of course, there are plenty of other goodies inside the box – including the rules for playing. Here's everything else included with the Armageddon box set:

• Operation Imperator: This is a chunky lore book all about the Marine's mission to reclaim the wartorn planet of Armageddon. It's exclusive to the box.
• Core rules: This is a compact version of the 11th Edition rules.
• Datacards: You'll get all the stats you need to play each unit here.
• Chapter Approved Deck: This pack of cards features everything you need to run narrative missions, competitive games, and more for the 2026/27 season.
• Dominatus Deck: This deck is used to create campaigns, linking battles together in a narrative way.

All in all, that's a lot of stuff. It's certainly enough to keep us all busy this summer, anyway.

While we didn't get a precise release date, the live stream reiterated that the Warhammer 40K Armageddon box set will be out in June 2026. That means pre-orders can't be too far away. As soon as they appear, I'll let you know!
