War update: 248 combat clashes on front line over past day

Over the past day, there were 248 combat engagements between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian troops, 50 of them in the Pokrovsk direction, while the enemy was also highly active in the Huliaipole and Kostiantynivka directions.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, publishing operational information as of 08:00 on Sunday, May 24, Ukrinform reports.

"Yesterday, the enemy carried out one missile strike using one missile and 82 airstrikes, dropping 255 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it used 9,203 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,886 attacks on populated areas and positions of Ukrainian troops, including 48 using multiple launch rocket systems," the statement said.

Over the past day, Ukraine's air force, missile troops, and artillery struck 12 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, one UAV control point, and two enemy guns.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, over the past day the aggressor carried out two airstrikes using five guided aerial bombs, conducted 85 attacks on Ukrainian troops and settlements, including one using MLRS. Two enemy assault actions were recorded.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions five times in the areas of Petro-Ivanivka, Ternova, and Starytsia.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked five times toward Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, Kivsharivka, and Kolisnykivka.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy tried 14 times to break through in the areas of Yampil, Lyman, Zarichne, Dibrava, Ozerne, Novoselivka, and toward Cherneshchynа, Novoserhiivka, Stavky, and Drobysheve.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy attacked three times in the areas of Zakitne, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and Kryva Luka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy carried out two offensive actions in the area of Markove and toward Yurkivka.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 21 attacks near Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Kostiantynivka, Stepanivka, Illinivka, Toretske, Kucheriv Yar, and Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 50 assault actions by the aggressor in the areas of Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Serhiivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and toward Shevchenko, Bilytske, and Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attacked twice, in the areas of Ternove and Stepove.

In the Huliaipole direction, the invaders carried out 32 attacks in the areas of Dobropillia, Zlahoda, Pryluky, Charne, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, and toward Nove Zaporizhzhia, Vozdvyzhivka, and Tsvitkove.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped three enemy attempts to advance in the areas of Bilohiria, Luhivske, and toward Prymorske.

In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.

No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.

As Ukrinform reported, the total combat losses of Russian military personnel from February 24, 2022, to May 24, 2026, reached about 1,355,920 people, 1,110 of them eliminated over the past day.
