Voloshyn: Enemies deploy new forces and employ wave-based assault tactics in Huliaipole sector

Russian troops are rotating units and deploying new formations in the Huliaipole sector following losses among their assault groups; however, Ukrainian forces are holding back the enemy's advance in the Zaporizhzhia sector.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on air by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.

"The enemy is trying to secure its own logistics, supply routes, and reinforcements, but the Defense Forces are striking these enemy logistics; however, the enemy is still rotating its forces. A certain number of units that suffered losses during assault operations are being withdrawn to various training grounds for recovery," the spokesperson noted.

He stated that the Russian command recently deployed a new force grouping in the Huliaipole sector, as the previous assault units had lost their combat capability. Currently, the occupiers continue to deploy new forces and employ tactics of high-intensity wave assaults.

"This is one of the enemy's tactics—high-intensity assault operations, where wave follows wave, and such a pace sometimes allows the enemy to make certain advances," Voloshyn explained.

At the same time, he emphasized that Russian troops have not made any advances recently on the three Zaporizhzhia fronts. In addition, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have halted the Russian 5th Army's advance.

"The enemy is not making any progress here right now," the spokesperson emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, 241 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the front lines over the past 24 hours, on May 13. The enemy is launching the most attacks in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors.
