Kyiv expects the Spanish parliament to ratify agreements on the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine and the International Claims Commission for Ukraine.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on Telegram following her meeting with the Speaker of Spain's Congress of Deputies, Francina Armengol, Ukrinform reports.

Svyrydenko stressed that this is the first visit to Ukraine at such a high parliamentary level in the history of bilateral relations.

"We discussed energy resilience and preparations for the next winter, as well as cooperation in the field of solar energy. I thanked Spain for its contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, the transfer of 76 generators, support for Ukraine within the PURL initiative, the decision to allocate EUR 1 billion in military aid to Ukraine in 2026, and the use of the SAFE mechanism for joint production," Svyrydenko said.

She stressed that Ukraine values Spain's consistent support for its EU membership and its constructive position regarding the EU loan decision for Ukraine.

Ukraine also expects the Spanish parliament to ratify the agreements on the Special Tribunal and the International Claims Commission for Ukraine.

Svyrydenko welcomed Spain's establishment of an Office for the Reconstruction of Ukraine in Madrid and invited Spain to participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will take place in Gdansk.

On April 30, the European Parliament supported the swift launch of the Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression committed by Russia against Ukraine and called on all EU member states to join the initiative.
