Ukraine's Khartiia units improve tactical position on Vovchansk axis
National Guard spokesperson Ruslan Muzychuk said this on Ukrainian television, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, we see that the enemy's activity is relatively low. However, the task of our units, including the 2nd Corps of the National Guard 'Khartiia,' is to maintain stabilization of the situation around the settlement of Kupiansk and further north. These are specific missions carried out in the Vovchansk area to prevent the enemy from improving its tactical position, expanding the grey zone, and advancing," Muzychuk said.

"During April and May, fighters of the 23rd Assault Regiment, as part of the Khartiia Brigade, conducted strike-and-search actions that allowed them to penetrate the depth of the enemy's defenses on the left flank of Vovchansk. As a result, a company-level strongpoint of the enemy was cleared on one side, and positions and dugouts were identified and subsequently cleared by our troops on the other. This, in turn, enabled our Defense Forces to improve their tactical position," the spokesperson said.
Muzychuk stressed that this was not a large-scale operation, but rather planned local actions aimed at preventing Russian forces from building up their groupings and preparing offensives in certain sectors of the front. He added that for a long time, Russian forces have failed to achieve successes in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector thanks to the timely detection of their positions and logistics.
As many as 180 combat engagements between Ukrainian forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the front line on May 10. The enemy was most active in the Pokrovsk, Huliaipole, and Kostiantynivka sectors.
