Ukraine signs TRACECA agreement on single transit permit
At the 18th annual meeting of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission, Ukraine signed an agreement introducing a unified electronic document for international road freight transport across the territories of member states of the Europe–Caucasus–Asia corridor.

According to Ukrinform, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development reported the signing.

Implementation of this mechanism is expected to simplify international road transport procedures, reduce the time required for permits, lower carrier costs, ensure the digitalization of transit operations, and enhance transparency and efficiency in transport processes.

“For Ukraine, the introduction of a single transit permit is an important step toward strengthening our transit potential. The mechanism is expected to attract additional transit cargo flows through Ukraine and foster stronger logistics links between Europe and Asia,” said Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine’s Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development.

The agreement must now be ratified by all participating states. Once internal procedures are completed and the agreement enters into force, practical implementation of the TRACECA Single Transit Permit will begin as a digital tool to streamline transit operations in the region.

As reported earlier, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina have agreed to liberalize freight transport, with the launch of a “transport visa-free regime” scheduled for January 1, 2027.
