Two women stabbed to death in back-to-back incidents on Long Island, including one outside her Wendy’s workplace
A suspect is in custody after two women were stabbed to death in separate incidents just hours apart on Long Island, New York, authorities said.
Nassau County police said the suspect knew both victims but a motive for the killings remains unclear, CBS News reported.
The first attack unfolded around 12:30 a.m. outside a Wendy’s restaurant in Island Park where a woman who worked at the fast food joint was killed while taking out the trash, police said.
Just hours later, at about 3 a.m., the same suspect allegedly carried out a second fatal stabbing inside a home on West Mineola Avenue in Valley Stream, according to police.
The suspect, whose name has not released, was taken into custody outside a 7-Eleven in Lynbrook. Charges are pending.

Bishop Claude Hibbert, whose church sits next to the crime scene, said the scale of the response immediately signaled something serious.
“I’ve not gotten much information from the police, but I figured that it has to be something serious, because the place is taped off,” Hibbert said.
“It’s normally a very, very peaceful area.”
