The Last of Us and Death Stranding actor Troy Baker says he's looking into building a game studio of his own.

Speaking to Kinda Funny Games, Baker is asked about his desire to make games, and explains, "To be able to take those tenets and principles, lessons and losses and be able to form something new out of that. I want to tell my own stories. "I want to proliferate the wisdom and the experience that those other great studios - and bad - have given me and be able to fold that into new experiences and try my hand at it."

He continues, "I want to build a team. I am excited about building a studio with people that I've worked with, that I trust, and going, 'Here's my idea. How can you make it better?'" And as for when this may come to fruition, Baker notes that the only timeframe in mind is "not rushed." He explains, "I've seen a lot of people who have rushed into opportunities, and I want to do it right.

And especially if I'm going to create a studio where other people are going to be responsible for my choices, I have to make the right ones."

In an interview with Eurogamer, Baker also notes, "I've had an incredible opportunity working with the best in this industry, it's insane - Ken Levine, Hideo Kojima, Neil Druckmann, Todd Howard, Vince Zampella - these people are paragons of the industry. I've worked with these people, and I've learned so much from them."

Prominent voice actors starting game studios has become a thing in recent years, with Assassin's Creed Origins star Abubakar Salim founding Surgent Studios, developer of Tales of Kenzera: Zau and Dead Take, while Date Everything was designed by Final Fantasy 15 lead Ray Chase, with Sassy Chap Games also founded by Persona 5 actors Robbie Daymond and Max Mittelman.

Voice actors as widely cast as Baker will undoubtedly know many people in the industry, and new jobs entering the games industry at a time when layoffs are so prominent can only be a good thing.
