Europe is a dream for tennis fans, with five-star resorts boasting world-class facilities where players of all levels can get on court to train, practice and compete.

From rallying on clay courts under the Mediterranean sun to serving up aces in the Alps, tennis is fast becoming a grand slam-winning trend for Europe’s luxury travel scene.

According to SmartFlyer’s 2026 travel trends report, sports like tennis and golf are “stealing the spotlight” by fuelling a “new wave of destination-driven itineraries”, where access to world-class facilities is “just as important as the view from your suite”.

Hotels and resorts across the continent are responding to the growth in tennis travel with tailored programmes, private coaching and experiences attracting players of all ages and abilities.

Set along the Aegean coastline, the Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum has enhanced its sports tourism credentials with the opening of the Mouratoglou Tennis Center, bringing elite-level coaching to one of Türkiye’s most luxurious resorts.

The new facility features three tennis courts and three padel courts, offering programmes inspired by Patrick Mouratoglou, who is known for working with champions like Serena Williams.

Guests can book private lessons, join clinics or simply enjoy hitting sessions before unwinding across the resort’s private beach, fine dining venues and expansive wellness facilities.

The Mouratoglou brand also has a tennis centre in Costa Navarino, Greece, and its flagship French Riviera academy on the Côte d’Azur, between Nice and Cannes.
