James Gunn has shared the first behind-the-scenes look at Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow as filming has finally begun.

Gunn took to Twitter to share an image of a chessboard, Lex Luthor's inmate ID, and some kind of box that displays the Brainiac logo. If I had to speculate, this is a scene where Superman goes to visit Luthor in prison in order to persuade him to join in the fight against Brainiac. Superman slides the box across the table and the two partake in a game of chess (which has happened quite a bit in the comics). Boom. You can check out the photo below.

Much of the cast from the first film is returning, including Skyler Gisondo as roving reporter and ladies' man Jimmy Olsen, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and the entire "Justice Gang." We still don't know if Adria Arjona is playing Maxima as James Gunn still has not confirmed but, uh, it looks likely.

Man of Tomorrow is set to hit theaters on July 9, 2027, following this year's Supergirl and Clayface releases. We've got a list of all the upcoming DC movies and TV shows you need to keep on your radar, as well as a breakdown of how to watch the DC movies in order.
