Subnautica 2 cross platform play allows you to load up your save on your PC and Xbox, letting you move from your desk to the comfort of your couch with ease - I know, I've been doing it every night after work.

Of course, you do need to own the game on both platforms to be able to play it on each, but if you do, then here's how to transfer your Subnautica 2 save between them, making the most of all that underwater exploration without having to log into or create an account.

To transfer your Subnautica 2 save between Xbox and PC, select the save file from the main menu and click Upload to Cloud. Here, you'll be given a one-use code. On your other platform, launch Subnautica 2 and select Import Save from the bottom of the main menu. Enter the one-use code, and you'll be able to load your game from either the single or multiplayer menu.

Of course, the fact that it's a one-use code means you do have to do this every time you transfer your save between devices, so if you're switching between two with regularity, it's worth uploading to cloud every time you log off - just be sure to make a note of your most recent code.

As I've mentioned above, you do have to own the game on both platforms to transfer and play your save, but that's where Subnautica 2 on Game Pass comes in really handy. Elsewhere, Subnautica 2 multiplayer means you can play your single-player save with friends and on any platform, proving Unknown Worlds are really pushing the tadpole out with this one.
