Where to watch Stranger Things: Tales from '85 and confirmed episode count
There will be 10 episodes of Stranger Things: Tales from '85. And, like all of Stranger Things to date, Tales from '85 will stream exclusively on Netflix. That means you'll need a Netflix subscription to watch every episode of the new Stranger Things spin-off.
However, if you're based in the US, you can also watch the first two episodes in theaters. You'll have to be quick, though, as "select screenings are taking place on Saturday, April 18, at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. local time in 34 theaters across the US," per Tudum. Tickets are still available via AMC's website.
When does Stranger Things: Tales from '85 take place on the Stranger Things timeline?
Stranger Things: Tales from '85 is set during the winter of 1985. That means it takes place between seasons 2 and 3 of the mothership show, just before the Mindflayer rolls into town.
While the Upside Down is technically locked up tight during this period thanks to Eleven, that doesn't mean other monstrous threats aren't out there. Just don't let showrunner Eric Robles hear you describe it as a "Saturday morning cartoon." "[That term] could mean anything from Care Bears to He-Man to Robotech," Robles tells GamesRadar+. "Look, I'm a Saturday morning kid myself, but it's so vague that it pops different ideas in people's minds."
