Star Wars: Galactic Racer release date leaked on Steam
It's hard enough to keep up with every big game coming out these days, and I imagine that remains true even if you're mostly invested in licensed Star Wars games. There's a shedload of them at this point, and two especially promising newbies are en route: podrace 'em up Galactic Racer, and tactics RPG Zero Company. Both are slated for 2026, and the former's release date just reportedly leaked: Oct. 6, 2026.
The info comes courtesy of Wario64 (via IGN), a socials account that's sort of like a panopticon surveillance tower but for videogame sales. The account posted a pre-order infographic that reportedly went up briefly on the game's Steam page. It's gone now, but threads have popped up all over spreading the news.
STAR WARS: Galactic Racer will release on Oct 6, 2026 according to Steam. Deluxe Edition contents revealed (Steelbook included with physical purchase) https://t.co/GLLPqO2I9T pic.twitter.com/NFYj73yyFbApril 24, 2026
Aside from the release date, there's some new deets on pre-order bonuses and the like. There's a physical steelbook edition, and a digital deluxe edition with some exclusive speeder customizations—more if you pre-order, with designs inspired by whatever platform you're on. It's all standard stuff.
The real headliner is that fall release date, which has me wondering if Zero Company might be coming a bit earlier or later than I was expecting. If you'd held a blaster to my head previously I'd have guessed a fall release date for the RPG, but now I'm not so sure. Of course, it's also possible these games release within weeks of each other, fueled by some assumption that podracing enjoyers and RPG gamers constitute a girthy Venn diagram.
Either way I am expecting a busy, prohibitively expensive autumn with Grand Theft Auto 6 releasing just a month after Galactic Racer. It's entirely possible that game will be delayed, though. Maybe they all will! I can't predict the future, I just report it.
