Sonic the Hedgehog star says voice recording has officially begun in an exciting Sonic 4 production update
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is officially one step closer to its release as star Ben Schwartz confirms that voice recording has now begun. The upcoming fourth movie in the video game adaptation franchise wrapped live-action filming recently.
The actor shared the news on Instagram with a picture of himself with director Jeff Fowler and editor Al LeVine. Alongside the photo in the studio, he wrote: "Voice records for Sonic 4 have begun! I. Am. So. Excited. For. You. To. See. This. Movie."

Live-action production wrapped on the movie in mid-May as Fowler shared a look at Sonic's robotic clone Metal Sonic. Alongside that, he teased that it will be the "best Sonic movie yet". Set for a release date of March 19, 2027, the new movie doesn't have a synopsis yet. But we do have a pretty good idea about what it will feature after the mid-credits scene of Sonic 3 gave us some hints.
Latest Videos FromThat ended with the introduction of Amy Rose, who will be voiced by Kristen Bell in the upcoming fourquel. There were also a whole host of metal sonics introduced in the ending scene, which we know will play a big part in the fourth film.
Not much else has been confirmed, but we are expecting to see the return of most of the major actors in the upcoming fourth film. As well as Schwartz and Bell, Jim Carrey, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, Idris Elba, Keanu Reeves, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Lee Majdoub are all coming back.
They'll be joined by some other newcomers, as Ben Kingsley, Matt Berry, Nick Offerman, and Richard Ayoade have all been added to the cast.
