Popular Mormon Wives Reality Series Launches Orange County Spinoff With Seven-Member Cast

The hit Hulu reality television program The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is expanding its footprint with a new regional installment set in Orange County. The streaming platform officially confirmed the spinoff Wednesday evening during its second Get Real House event, revealing the ensemble cast that will headline the California-based extension.

Seven individuals have been selected to join The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County: Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, McCall DaPron, Chandler Higginson, Ashleigh Pease and Madison Bontempo. Notable among the newcomers is DaPron, whose sister Mayci Neeley serves as a primary cast member in the original Utah-based series. Additionally, Ovard brings significant social media credentials to the project, having established herself as a prominent YouTube personality with a sustained online following.

The announcement comes one day after production resumed on the original series, which had halted following an internal domestic violence investigation involving cast member Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex Dakota Mortensen. Separate investigations were also conducted by local Utah law enforcement agencies. On April 14, the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office determined it would not pursue new charges against Paul. Industry sources indicated Wednesday that show producers remain supportive of Paul's potential return whenever she feels prepared to participate.

Notable Absence

Conspicuously absent from the Orange County roster is Jen Affleck, an original series regular. Initial reports from March 23 had identified Affleck as the sole cast member from the Utah production expected to transition to the spinoff.

Series Premise

The official description positions the new program as follows: "A new group of dynamic young mothers in Orange County collide in a community where beliefs are not just their religion; they are their identity. While some defend their way of life, fighting against modernity, others embrace change, becoming a platform to disrupt the status quo. Scandals and secrets will be revealed, facades will crumble, and families and friendships will change forever on both sides of the battlefield as this group of strong, game-changing influencers comes together to build their answer to #MomTok. This is The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County."

Following the Franchise Model

The expansion strategy mirrors the approach employed by Bravo's Real Housewives franchise model. The Real Housewives of Orange County inaugurated that network's expansive reality television universe two decades ago, establishing Orange County as an iconic location within the reality television landscape.

Production responsibilities fall to Jeff Jenkins Productions in collaboration with 3BMG and Walt Disney Television Alternative. The executive producer roster includes Jeff Jenkins, Russell Jay-Staglik, Amanda Weinstein, Melissa Bidwell and Brandon Beck at Jeff Jenkins Productions; Ross Weintraub and Reinout Oerlemans at 3BMG; and Georgia Berger, Lisa Filipelli and Danielle Pistotnik at Select Entertainment.
