Sandra Bullock Reveals Why Aidan Quinn's Character Doesn't Appear in 'Practical Magic 2' Sequel

As the Owens sisters prepare for their return in Practical Magic 2, it seems the family's supernatural curse remains unbroken.

During promotional appearances for the follow-up to the 1998 romantic fantasy film, actress Sandra Bullock has offered insight into the absence of Aidan Quinn's character, Investigator Gary Hallet, from the forthcoming installment set to hit theaters in September. Bullock hinted at the reason during an appearance at CinemaCon alongside her onscreen sibling Nicole Kidman.

"And if you know the original film, you can probably guess why," Bullock remarked, suggesting that viewers familiar with the first movie would understand the character's fate.

The cryptic comment indicates that Quinn's absence is directly connected to plot elements from the 1998 original, which centered on Sally Owens' romantic involvement with the investigator. The sequel reunites Bullock and Kidman to revisit the beloved supernatural storyline, though apparently without the character who previously captured Sally's heart.
