Russian invaders destroyed another church in the Sumy region — in the village of Ulanove in the Esman community.

According to Ukrinform, Kordon.media stated this in an article.

"Russian troops destroyed a church in the village of Ulanove in the Esman community. The ruins of the church were discovered on May 25 during a remote inspection of the territory. According to preliminary information, Russian forces destroyed it with artillery fire," the report says, citing community head Serhii Minakov.

It is noted that no civilians remain in Ulanove anymore — due to constant enemy shelling and the destruction of infrastructure, all residents were evacuated.

As previously reported, the Sumy region is among the six regions with the greatest losses of cultural heritage sites due to the war. According to the Ministry of Culture, the region ranks second in Ukraine after the Donetsk region in the number of communities where such destruction has been recorded — the enemy has damaged or destroyed religious and cultural landmarks in 38 communities of the Sumy region.

Among the region's religious buildings that have suffered severe destruction or damage due to Russian aggression are St. George's Church in Okhtyrka, St. Nicholas Church in the border town of Velyka Pysarivka, as well as the unique national architectural monument — the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Yunakivka. In addition, churches in the regional center itself have repeatedly come under enemy drone and artillery attacks, including the oldest stone building in Sumy — the Holy Resurrection Cathedral.
