Robotics and satellite communications: Joint venture agreements signed at Ukraine–EU Business Summit
Several joint venture agreements between Ukrainian and European companies were signed during the Ukraine–EU Business Summit in Brussels.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Danish company GomSpace and Ukrainian company STETMAN announced the launch of a joint venture in Ukraine to develop sovereign satellite communication capabilities. The partners signed the agreement in the presence of representatives from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the Government of Ukraine.

Under the deal, the partners will continue establishing UASAT, a joint venture in Ukraine to provide sovereign dual-use satellite communications. The first satellite is scheduled for launch in autumn 2026 to provide feedback for planning further steps.

Ukrainian company TENCORE and French company SHARK ROBOTICS also signed a Memorandum of Understanding, combining the expertise of a global leader in firefighting robots with one of Ukraine’s leading players in combat robotics.

The partnership will establish two joint ventures. One, located in France, will focus on developing and producing defense robots based on battlefield experience in Ukraine, including logistics and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC). These robots will serve the French armed forces and, with donor support, be supplied to Ukrainian forces.

The second joint venture, based in Ukraine, will concentrate on civilian robotics for safety applications. It will provide technical maintenance, personnel training, and gradual localization of component production to strengthen the European supply chain. In the long term, this venture will support the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).

As reported earlier, the Ukraine–EU Business Summit opened in Brussels on April 22.
