Nestled in the French Alps, the premier high-altitude destination is known for its panoramic mountain views, direct ski access, and an array of sports, exclusive boutique shopping and Michelin-starred gastronomic experiences.

Slated to open its doors to the public during the 2028 winter season, Raffles Hotels & Resorts will debut its first ever-alpine resort in one of skiing’s most iconic addresses.

Part of Accor, the aptly titled Raffles Courchevel is being developed in collaboration with Art de Vivre, a long-term investment holding company specialising in luxury hospitality and lifestyle.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Art de Vivre, whose vision and dedication align perfectly with our own, to craft an exceptional and completely unique resort experience in the mountains,” said Omer Acar, CEO of Raffles Hotels & Resorts.

Acar added that the move marked an "extraordinary milestone" for the luxury hotel brand as it explores alpine luxury hospitality for the first time.

“The selection of Courchevel underscores our commitment to thoughtfully expanding the Raffles brand in the most coveted resort destinations worldwide.”

Raffles Courchevel is planned to be positioned within the Jardin Alpin – the most elevated and coveted enclave of Courchevel 1850. Guests will be treated to views of the Tarentaise Valley, with some rooms furnished with private balconies.

Raising the bar at altitude, the residence is poised to include "distinctive dining spaces", such as two restaurants with winter gardens and expansive terraces and "an elegant" tea lounge.

Off the slopes, guests can retreat to the spa and recovery zones, where thermal experiences, a panoramic swimming pool and dedicated fitness at the fitness centre soon await.

"Courchevel 1850 is a destination that demands the very highest standards in design, service, and execution,” said Jonathan Lau, co-founder and CEO of Art de Vivre. “In Raffles, we have found a partner whose storied heritage, cultural depth, and values are equal to this ambition.

"Our singular vision has been to create a resort that will be worthy of this extraordinary setting, one that becomes an enduring icon of Courchevel, and we are delighted to do so under the Raffles flag."

What’s to come in 2030?

It’s not just Raffles that is launching a new luxury property in the popular ski destination. Kerzner International has also announced that a One&Only Resort and Private Homes will open in Courchevel in 2030, the brand's first resort in the French Alps.

Developed at the former site of the historic Courcheneige Hotel, the resort will be located near to the Raffles Courchevel at the summit of the exclusive Jardin Alpin.

The exclusive alpine address will blend elegant guest rooms with expansive suites that open onto sweeping mountain views.

Dining will range from casual slope-side lunches to elegant apres-ski dinners for a clientele that value dining, entertainment and social connection as integral to the alpine experience.

“With One&Only, we will bring a new spirit of alpine luxury to Courchevel," said Philippe Zuber, CEO of Kerzner International. “One that celebrates the beauty, energy and soul of the French Alps, while inviting guests to experience the rare sense of freedom that defines One&Only.”

Slated to also be a residence for wellness and recovery, facilities will include an indoor/outdoor wet circuit, thermal experiences, private treatment spaces, beauty and recovery facilities, as well as tailored therapies for post-ski muscle recovery and rejuvenation.

While for guests seeking a more permanent presence in the destination, the resort will also feature a limited collection of One&Only Private Homes.

“Courchevel represents one of the most exclusive residential and hospitality markets in the world, making this a landmark opportunity for Kerzner to bring One&Only to the French Alps,” said Juan Aguilar, President of Real Estate for Kerzner International.

“This development reflects the full breadth of our expertise, not only as a leading operator of ultra-luxury hospitality experiences, but also as a trusted investment and development partner capable of creating enduring value in the world's most sought-after destinations.”
