Not only did it sell over a million copies in just two days, but Pragmata is continuing to soar after proving itself as one of the best-rated Capcom games on Steam – in fact, it now boasts a whopping two million sales in total, a couple of weeks post-launch.

It's been a wild 16 days for Capcom, I'd say, following its Pragmata release – this is a fresh IP for the developer and publisher, after all. At this point, though, it's safe to say the company's foray into a brand-new title and universe has more than performed well.

Capcom seems to think as much itself, announcing that Pragmata has now sold two million units in just over two weeks… no small feat, if you ask me. Capcom does cite a few potential reasons for the new sci-fi gem's quick success, however.

"Through marketing initiatives such as the early release of a playable demo, Capcom worked to expand brand awareness for the title prior to launch," the studio writes. "In addition to its unique gameplay system, the game's emotionally driven narrative – depicting the growing bond between a human and an android girl – has attracted attention."

I mean, just look at Diana's little drawings – they're adorable, and a far cry from Capcom's usual vibes in games like Resident Evil Requiem (a banger in its own right, of course).

Plus, all of this success could spell even more Pragmata further down the line. A new interview with Capcom USA chief operating officer Rob Dyer and Game File teases potential sequels, with the executive saying Pragmata is an IP "we can continue to go down."

That's some big news if it rings true, as we could be looking at another Capcom franchise like Monster Hunter or Resident Evil – but perhaps that's just wishful thinking. Only time can tell, but for now, two million sales are nothing to scoff at.
