Next year’s iPhone Pro models to get radical new design, per leaker

Next year is the iPhone’s 20th anniversary, and new leaks corroborate a prior report that Apple’s iPhone 19 Pro models will both feature a radical new design.

iPhone 19 Pro and Pro Max rumored to have quad-curved display, under-display Face ID

Earlier this month, analyst Jeff Pu shared a report that brought a lot of clarity to Apple’s iPhone plans for next year.

We’ve been expecting a unique new 20th anniversary design with:

  • quad-curved display for a bezel-free appearance
  • under-display Face ID, leaving only a hole-punch cutout or no cutout at all

Until Pu’s report, indications were that this ‘iPhone 20’ would be a brand new model in the lineup. But he claimed that the new design was actually coming to the Pro and Pro Max models in 2027.

Now, that report has been corroborated by a reputable supply chain leaker, Digital Chat Station.

In a new post on Weibo, and a follow-up reply, he affirms that Apple’s ‘iPhone 19 Pro’ line—or whatever special branding it might get—will have the quad-curved screen design that’s been previously rumored.

Per his post, the new design is going through “evaluation testing” in the mass production line.

Digital Chat Station’s corroboration of Pu’s prior claim adds significant weight to the idea that Apple’s 20th anniversary design won’t be a totally separate model.

Instead, as Mark Gurman originally reported, it’s a redesign intended for iPhone 19 Pro and Pro Max.

The new Pro models will presumably be joined in the 2027 lineup by a second-gen iPhone Ultra. A new iPhone Air might debut too.
