New Universal Kids Resort In Texas Sets July Opening

Universal Kids Resort, a regional park designed for families with young children, will officially open on July 1 in Frisco, Texas.

Universal Destinations & Experiences said it’s “inviting a new generation to embark on kid-sized Universal thrills made just for them” as it tests out the new concept. Tickets and packages including the 300 room on-site Universal Kids Resort Hotel go on sale today.

The 20-acre park, about 30 miles north of Dallas, is laid out across seven lands: DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp; Jurassic World Adventure Camp; Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom; Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club; DreamWorks’ TrollsFest; DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar; and the Isle of Curiosity, which features DreamWorks’ Gabby’s Dollhouse.

Universal opened its Epic Universe in Orlando a year ago in May of 2025. The division of Comcast/NBCUniversal is developing its first U.K. park – the Universal United Kingdom Resort — in Bedford, about 45 minutes north of London.
