LinkedIn CEO Stepping Down After Six-Year Tenure; COO Assumes Leadership

Ryan Roslansky has relinquished his position as chief executive of LinkedIn, the world's preeminent professional networking platform, following a six-year term in the role. Dan Shapero, who held the position of chief operating officer, will assume the top job effective immediately.

Roslansky's departure marks the end of a notable chapter in the executive's professional journey. Having joined the Microsoft-owned company in 2009 as one of the earliest recruits under then-CEO Jeff Weiner, Roslansky accumulated extensive experience across multiple divisions of the organization over more than a decade before ascending to the chief executive role in June 2020. He took the helm during a particularly turbulent period for the labor market, as pandemic-related disruptions reshaped employment dynamics globally.

The leadership transition occurs within the context of LinkedIn's ownership structure, which has remained under Microsoft's corporate umbrella since the tech giant's acquisition of the platform in 2016.
