We have journalists at the Beijing Auto Show (Auto China 2026), but it takes time to collect and then share all of the great EV announcements happening there. In the meantime, below is one notable announcement from Leapmotor & Stellantis that was shared on Friday when the show launched.
Leapmotor hosted its themed press conference, “A New Answer to the World — Leapmotor’s Further Advancement,” at Auto Beijing on April 24th. More than 100 leading international media outlets from five continents attended the conference, highlighting Leapmotor’s growing global footprint and its latest advances in automotive technology.
The event marked the global debut of the all‑new Lafa5 (B05 global naming) Ultra.
Leapmotor has maintained strong momentum in recent years. In 2025, the company delivered about 600,000 vehicles worldwide and achieved annual profitability for the first time. In the first quarter of 2026, global deliveries exceeded 110,000 units, with overseas exports surpassing 40,000 units – hitting a record high and underscoring the success of its product portfolio and global strategy.
The highlight of the Auto Show is the launch of the B05 Ultra, only dedicated to the domestic Chinese market. As the top-trim variant of the B05 model line, it is positioned as a stylish high-performance sports coupe. The new vehicle features exclusive factory-fitted aerodynamic kits, 0–100 km/h acceleration in the 5-second range, 8-point PWM seat massage, as well as a dual flagship chipset setup of Qualcomm 8650 + 8295 and advanced urban navigation assisted driving. With comprehensive upgrades in exterior design, driving performance, intelligent systems and riding comfort, the model aims to deliver an all-round superior experience for young automotive enthusiasts.
Outside China, Leapmotor’s European rollout follows a step‑by‑step strategy, focusing on core volume versions, strong price competitiveness and simplicity at launch. Within this framework, Leapmotor is now introducing the B05 c-hatchback in Europe, its first sporty electric model, marking a new milestone for the brand and further strengthening its European EV portfolio. Designed to combine emotional styling, dynamic performance and everyday versatility, without compromising efficiency or comfort. The Leapmotor B05 brings a more expressive interpretation of sporty electric mobility to customers who value individuality and advanced technology.
Leapmotor B05 orders’ opened on April 23rd in the first European markets, with prices starting from €26,900, offering a compelling balance of performance, technology and value.
At the Beijing Auto Show Leapmotor also showcases a full lineup at its booth, including the B03X, B-series, C-series, and flagship models D19 and D99. Covering sedans, SUVs and MPVs with both pure electric and extended-range powertrains, the display fully demonstrates the brand’s strengths in full-scenario self-research and product evolution.
