A new Star Wars Force FX Elite Lightsaber has at last revealed itself, and at last the Sith will have their revenge. That's because Darth Maul's signature saber is getting a replica later this year.

Stepping out of the shadows at CCXP Mexico this weekend, the latest Star Wars Force FX Elite Lightsaber is based on Maul: Shadow Lord. While that means this is a single-bladed weapon rather than the double-ended one he's known for, it does come with an adapter piece allowing you to connect another version of the hilt to the end (thus letting you recreate his prequel-era lightsaber staff). When combined with the usual tricks that put these replicas in contention for our best toys list like progressive ignition and effects for blaster deflection, wall-cutting, and duels, this should tick all the boxes for fans of the best Star Wars toys.

This lightsaber replica will be up for pre-order very soon; you can get it from April 30 at 1pm ET via the Hasbro Pulse store or "participating retailers," which I assume means Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.

I've been waiting for a good replica of Darth Maul's signature weapon for a long time. Although I have a lot of time for third-party replicas or official Legacy lightsaber sets from the Disney Store, those don't boast the same bells and whistles that Force FX Elite Lightsabers do. As noted in my Darth Vader Force FX Elite review, these modern replicas are amongst the best lightsabers that Hasbro has ever made. That means this Maul saber has the premium, screen-accurate detailing to go with a host of cool effects. The classic battle clash is cool, yes, but throwing in progressive ignition and a duel bind effect with "wall-cutting" and "blaster deflection" really elevate it.

Plus, we don't have many Force FX Elite lightsabers from the prequel era. Another one for the collection is OK in my books.

Naturally, this wasn't the only Star Wars-related announcement to come out of CCXP Mexico. A Black Series action figure from Mandalorian and Grogu depicting an Imperial Remnant Warlord with Polar Mouse Droid is going to be up for pre-order on April 30 at 1pm exclusively via Target, and a smaller, Vintage Collection version of Devon Izara is coming in Fall as well. You can get a glimpse of both in the gallery below.

As for the Maul Force FX Elite Lightsaber, you'll be able to pre-order it from April 30 ahead of launch in Fall 2026. Here's Hasbro's official description:

"After the events of the Clone Wars, Maul plots to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. This collectible Force FX Lightsaber is detailed to look like the Maul Lightsaber from the STAR WARS: MAUL – SHADOW LORD™ series on Disney+. Combining advanced LEDs and entertainment-inspired sound effects, the Force FX Elite Lightsaber is the most realistic STAR WARS™ Lightsaber yet. Display the electronic Lightsaber on the included stand and connect two Lightsabers horizontally with the adapter piece (additional Maul Force FX Elite Lightsabers sold separately, subject to availability)."
