Is Karol G Hinting at a Brand New Era?

Karol G is breaking records left and right with her Viajando Por El Mundo global tour — and she hasn’t even hit the stage yet. She sold a whopping 2 million tickets in the first four days of the tour being on sale and just added a handful more dates across the world, becoming the first Latina to headline a stadium tour worldwide. But in between the excitement, it seems the Colombian superstar may have a few tricks up her sleeve and could even be hinting at a whole new era in her tour promotion.

It all started when Karol announced her tour last month, after initially teasing it during her historic headlining Coachella set, with a playful trailer set to her Tropicoqueta hit “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido.” In the video, the singer packs props and tropical-inspired sparkly outfits into the back of a moving truck. At one point, she opens a suitcase that sputters sequins out. “This one not yet,” she says in Spanish with a smile, “but I will pack it.”

Since that elusive move, fans have paid attention to Karol’s tour promo with a close eye. For starters, the singer has been using the light blue heart emoji across her social media posts. It would seem inconsequential, except for the fact that it matches the blue aesthetic in the visual and promo photos. The singer sports sparkly blue nail polish and eyeshadow and wears a white tank top with a sparkly blue star in the center of it.

Karol celebrated the successful demand of her global Tropitour with a heartfelt Instagram post last week. “It’s crazy to see how big the family has grown,” she wrote in Spanish in the caption, referring to her fans. “I am truly more than grateful for the infinite love you always give me, and I don’t take anything for granted, so GET READY,” she added. “Because if you think you’ve already seen it all, remember that La Bichota always surprises you.”

The carousel post made sure to emphasize Karol’s sparkly blue get-up, and even included a new photo of the singer wearing a sparkly blue Luchadro mask. In photos from her Coachella practice, Karol and rising Colombian singer Daiky Gamboa were seen wearing matching graphic t-shirts that read “Stay Focused and Extra Sparkly” atop a picture of herself performing.
