In Poltava region, death toll after Russian strike climbs to five, with 37 injured
According to Ukrinform, Vitalii Diakivnych, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram.
“According to updated information, there are now five fatalities as a result of the Russian attack. Among them are three employees of an oil and gas company and two rescue workers. Our sincere condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the deceased,” the message reads.
According to him, as of this hour, 37 people are known to have been wounded. Some of them are in critical condition.
May 5 and 6 have been declared days of mourning in the Poltava region.
Kateryna Yamshchykova, secretary of the Poltava City Council, reported that 21 people have been admitted to city medical facilities. Four of them are in critical condition and are being treated in the anesthesiology and intensive care units. Some wounded individuals have been admitted to a regional hospital. Medical personnel are providing all necessary care.
