While some actions are easy to find and initiate in Paralives, trying for a baby isn’t one of them. This is by far one of the trickiest options to unlock, so if you’re having trouble with it, here’s how to try for a baby in Paralives.

How to have a baby in Paralives

You can try for a baby in Paralives by having two Paras successfully discuss having children, grouping them together, and selecting the “Try for a baby” option on any bed. It’s a pretty lengthy and complex process to navigate, with many key prerequisites that must be met before this action becomes available. Here’s a full breakdown of how to make it happen.

• Form a romantic relationship. The very first step is to build a relationship between two Parafolk. Start by having them become friends, then steadily build to a romantic bond after that. This takes time, so don’t rush it.
• Have a high relationship level. Once you’ve got a romantic relationship going, work on building it as high as you can. The pair must have a very high relationship level to have a shot at the card you need appearing.
• Talk with your partner until the “Ask if they want to have children together in the future” card appears. This part is down to random luck and chance. There’s no way to control which conversation cards you get, although you can help steer things in the right direction by picking romantic cards and having successful romantic interactions when possible.
• Successfully ask your partner if they want to have children in the future. You have to be successful when selecting this interaction to be able to try for a baby. If you fail at it, your partner will say no, which means you must try again later. To be successful, try to only select this option when the chance of success is at least 70 percent or higher. If it’s low, keep selecting romantic options to try to make it higher when it reappears. Once you do manage to succeed at this interaction, you can have your two selected Paras try for a baby whenever you like.

• Select the two Parafolk you want to have try for a baby. This is the step that’s easy to miss, but you must highlight the two Paras you wish to have try for a baby here to get the interaction to appear. Click and drag to highlight them with a blue box. This groups them together for the next interaction, allowing the try for a baby option to pop up.
• Click on a bed. You need a bed to initiate this action, so it’s generally best to make sure you’re on a home lot, either your own or your partner’s, before starting this process.
• Choose the “Try for a baby” option. As long as you highlighted both Parafolk you wish to have involved in this process, this option will appear at the very bottom of the list of actions you can perform. Allow the process to play out after selecting this option to have a chance of your Paras having a baby.

After trying for a baby, you can check to see if you’re pregnant by clicking on a toilet and selecting the “Take a pregnancy test” option. You can also take a trip to the hospital to learn more about your pregnancy, including how many kids you’re pregnant with.

How to get intimate in Paralives

If you want your Paras to grow closer without the risk of having a baby, you can click on a bed and select the get intimate option instead to initiate this process. You first need to follow most of the same steps listed above, with the exception of not needing to wait for a specific relationship card to perform this action. Still, you will need a strong romantic bond to unlock and succeed at this action.
