How to propel purple fans in LumenTale: Memories of Trey

If you’ve explored enough of the world in LumenTale: Memories of Trey, you’ll come across certain objects that have question marks above them. These objects serve as obstacles on pathways and in caves, preventing you from continuing unless you interact with them in some way.

One of these is a purple fan, which seemingly needs to be powered up to unlock various structures and open gates. But when you first come across one, it’ll have a question mark above it with no way to interact.

To propel one of the many purple fans in LumenTale, you’ll need to have completed the “Gone Spare” quest as part of the game’s main storyline. This quest takes place in and around the city of Arsilia, and after completing it, you’ll visit the local Archives, where you’ll unlock the Aura Holoken power after interacting with one of the building’s displays.

As one of the many Holoken Powers in LumenTale, the Aura Holoken Power allows you to power up fans. It works much like the Geo-type Holoken Power that you unlocked earlier in the game; simply make sure you have an Animon with the Aura type selected in the Holoken’s Animon mode, then throw out the device at a nearby object to make the most of its newly infused power. The Holoken will create a breeze that will cause the fan to spin, powering up any structure or machine it’s connected to.

If you didn’t pick Vortail as your starter, you have a few other Animon you can catch near Arsilia who can infuse your Holoken with the Aura type. Canabble, the duck-like creature, and Muribang, the exploding mouse, both boast the Aura type and can help you propel fans. Both creatures can be caught in Area 16, the route east of Arsilia.

In addition to powering up fans, the Aura Holoken Power reveals hidden pathways in dark areas like caves. This ability will come in handy for part of LumenTale’s main quest line, where you’ll have to navigate Arsilia’s dimly lit prison to save Ban. Simply chuck the Holoken out, and if there’s a secret walkway, it will be revealed by the device’s shining light.
