Did you know you can get Xbox Game Pass for free with Discord Nitro?
The $9.99 monthly chat app subscription unveiled a new program called Nitro Rewards where those who subscribe can get free items, and one of them is access to Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition.
That's right, a whole bunch of free games are available if you have Discord Nitro. Additionally, you can get Discord Nitro if you already have a Game Pass subscription, so it's a win-win if you have an active sub to either service.
Here's how to get your new Discord Nitro Rewards, including Xbox Game Pass.
How to get Xbox Game Pass with Discord Nitro Rewards
If you have a Discord Nitro subscription, you are eligible for free access to Xbox Game Pass. In May 2026, Discord Nitro now includes the Starter Edition of Game Pass, which has:
- 50+ games like Stardew Valley, DayZ, and Fallout 4.
- 10 hours of cloud gaming each month.
- Play and earn up to $25 a year in the Store with Rewards.
Here's what you need to do to get your free Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition via Discord Nitro:
- On desktop or in the Discord app, select the Direct Messages icon on the top left.
- Select the Nitro Home button to go to the Nitro Rewards page.
- Locate the Xbox Game Pass tab on the Nitro Rewards page and select "Claim for Free."
- Follow the following prompts to link your Microsoft account to Discord (if you haven't already).
- On your Xbox, navigate to the Game Pass tab and browse your new playable games.
If you don't see the Xbox Game Pass tab yet, you're not alone. It appears to still be rolling out on its launch day of May 11, 2026. Be patient and check the Nitro Home page on Discord periodically and it should appear soon.
In the meantime, you can also browse other rewards like discount codes for Logitech and SteelSeries gaming peripherals, or Discord Orbs which can be used to purchase cosmetics on the app.
