How to get the Whiplash Exotic in The Division 2 – Y8S1 Rise Up Scout Climax mission walkthrough
The Scout Climax mission for The Division 2 Y8S1 Rise Up is now live, and we can grind it to get the Whiplash Exotic pistol. This unique exotic is available to all for free, but you’ll have to undertake a stern test.
Let’s find out how to add this new Exotic pistol.
How to get the Whiplash Exotic in The Division 2 Y8S1 Rise Up
You can get the Whiplash by completing the Climax mission tied with the Y8S1 Scout missions. To unlock the mission, you’ll need to complete the following Scout riddles.
Once done, the Climax mission will be available. This season, you’ll have to go to the Pentagon to take down ‘The Director’ Jensen Sykes.

If you want to get the Whiplash as a guaranteed drop, you’ll have to complete the mission in Master difficulty. You can still get the Whiplash by running the mission in lower difficulties, but it becomes luck-based. To complete the mission in Master, you’ll need a pre-made team with proper build and gear.

Let’s now find out what to expect during the quest. We begin in front of the Pentagon. First, clear all the enemies and head inside through the seating lobby. Turn right, and open the elevator door.

Follow the marker, and you’ll come across another set of elevator doors. Open one, drop, and move straight to eliminate all the Black Tusk enemies you can find. You’ll find the first bit of puzzle at this point. The door ahead will be blocked by a pair of wires. If you come in contact with the wires, you’ll be electrocuted.

To remove the issue, follow the wires. You’ll find them going up to a fusebox (follow the wires until you come across a separate set of stairs). The stairs will be blocked, but you’ll be able to shoot and deactivate the fuse boxes. Once done, you’re clear to move to the next room.

Follow the markers, and you’ll eventually reach the backyard of the Pentagon building. You’ll find a massive BT helicopter on the left that needs to be destroyed. Shoot the gasoline tanks near it to set it ablaze. However, you’ll also meet the first HVT of this mission at this stage: Kill Thomas ‘Robo’ Robertson. Once done, enter the gate to the left of the destroyed helicopter.

Move to the next building (just follow the marker) and clear the enemy. Open the first secured door by interacting with the laptop next to it. You’ll now proceed through a narrow chamber. You need to take care of the enemies present while avoid being electrocuted. I honestly couldn’t save myself from getting electrocuted. Hence, I had to regularly heal myself by recharging my shields. Once you reach the end of the corridor, interact with another laptop to open the second secured door.

Next, follow the marker to reach the Control Room. This is where you’ll come across an Echo featuring a couple of NPCs, with one of them being Sykes. Take the door to the left of this room, and you’ll find yourself in a room filled with Black Tusk mercenaries. First, eliminate all of them, and then Director Sykes will appear.

While you need to take down Sykes and the enemies, you’ll also have to be mindful of EMP charges that will activate periodically. These charges can stun you, so try not to get trapped. Once you defeat Sykes, go through the door with ‘C Wing’ written on top of it.
This will mark the end of the Climax mission. If you did all these things in Master difficulty, you’ll get the Whiplash. You can always replay the mission as many times as you want if you want to get more copies of the Exotic pistol.
