How to get Groundmech Droid in Fortnite Star Wars Droid Tycoon

To progress in Fortnite's Droid Tycoon mode, you need to get your hands on all kinds of different specific Droids. One of the toughest ones you'll be tasked with acquiring is the elusive Groundmech Droid, an essential ally to get if you want to continue progressing your base.

There's a vast collection of Droids you can find and get on your base, but collecting each of them is hard work, and setting out to find any one specific type is even harder. It's a task you'll regularly have to face, though, so here's how to get Groundmech Droid in Fortnite Star Wars Droid Tycoon.

How to find a Groundmech in Fortnite Droid Tycoon

Unfortunately, there's no way to guarantee you find a Groundmech while playing Droid Tycoon in Fortnite. Like all Droids, the odds of coming across this one are completely random and down to chance. All spawns are random for everyone, so you might encounter one right away or instead have to wait a long time for one to appear.

Although the odds of encountering a Groundmech at the Sandcrawler are random, there are a few ways to increase your odds of finding one. The first, and most important, is to keep up with your daily missions. Always try to complete them all, as these quests yield amazing rewards, including rare Droids like the Groundmech. There's no way to guarantee that these missions yield this Droid, but there's always a chance, so it's an opportunity you won't want to miss.

The next way to increase your odds of finding one is by making sure you Rebirth often, and are as high as you can get at the moment. You need a Groundmech to Rebirth at higher levels, so there's a chance you're stuck and cannot progress until you get one. Otherwise, though, be sure to Rebirth if you can and try again, as this rare Droid seems to have a higher chance of spawning at higher levels.

Because this is a rare drop, you also might consider trying to load into a Droid Tycoon match that has lots of high-level players. The drops that spawn at the Sandcrawler seem to be based on the players who are present, so if you're in a match with lots of high Rebirth level players, your odds of finding a Groundmech Droid may be increased. Of course, this also means more competition for grabbing it, so there are pros and cons to this method, and you'll need to be ready to act fast.

Ultimately, patience is key for trying to get your hands on a Groundmech Droid. Check the Sandcrawler frequently, log on daily to check off missions, and don't give up, as luck will eventually be on your side with finding one. And if you only manage to get a low-level one, remember that you can always spend Upgrade Chips to enhance it. You'll need a Groundmech for several different Rebirths, so make sure you hang onto this Droid and never sell it once you do manage to claim one.

Playing Droid Tycoon is an essential part of the Unleash the Force quest series in the Star Wars event, so working on this task helps you earn those precious freebies. If you still need to check off some other tasks, though, you may also consider working on claiming Capture Points in Galactic Siege.
