Tomodachi Life Living the Dream personality types are what makes the game feel alive, and are important to pay attention to if you want a thriving island. They keep your Miis feeling unique, determine how they approach interactions with other island residents, their feelings, and their overall general attitude.

Personality types also determine your "Island Vibe" in the island Info menu, and house colors. And if that wasn't enough already, in my Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream review, I mention how collecting all of them is one of the best parts of Nintendo's new social sim.

All personalities in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream

There are 16 personalities in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream, each divided into four main groups that are all colour-coded and will also determine what colour variant house your Mii moves into once you place them on your island.

These four main groups are: Easy-Going (yellow), Energetic (red), Reserved (green), and Confident (blue). In each of these groups, there are four additional personalities you can choose when you make your Mii.

In total, all the personalities that you can get are as follows:

Easy-Going: Softie
Easy-Going: Optimist
Easy-Going: Carer
Easy-Going: Dreamer
Energetic: Charmer
Energetic: Adventurer
Energetic: Bubbly
Energetic: Hot-Blooded
Reserved: Patient

How to get each personality type in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream

In the Mii creator, you'll have to pick different values for your Mii's movement, speech, energy, attitude, and overall vibe. Your choices will determine which personality your Mii's have and will also affect how they greet and speak with you, as well as other residents on the island.

Below I've got all the values that I used to get each personality type, as well as a brief depiction of each personality for you below!

Softie personality type

Sensitive and emotional Miis who are in tune with their feelings and sentimental.

Optimistic personality type

Positive and enthusiastic Miis who are always smiling.

Carer personality type

These Miis are trustworthy and considerate; they put their friends first and work hard to keep the peace.

Dreamer personality type

The idealistic and romantic Miis on your island. They get lost in their own ideas and have their heads in the clouds.

Charmer personality type

Admired by all, and easily adapts in situations, they are passionate and follow their instincts.

Adventurer personality type

These are your bold Miis who are never dull to be around; they are also captivating and light up any room.

Bubbly personality type

Outgoing and pleasant Miis who can find the silver lining in every situation. They make friends easily, too.

Hot-blooded personality type

Assertive Miis who trust and follow their instincts. They easily command respect from other island residents.

Patient personality type

Unique, carefree Miis who are also very creative and think outside the box.

Perfectionist personality

Logical and imaginative Miis who are happiest creating and appreciating even the smaller details in life.

Introvert personality type

Self-sufficient and individual Miis who don't like to let their emotions show but have a lot going on deep down.

Thinker personality type

These are your thoughtful and introspective Miis who are great at thinking things through and analyzing situations.

Busy-bee personality type

Diligent and highly efficient Miis. They are explicit in planning and always follow through.

Leader personality type

Ambitious Miis that are full of energy and don't mind taking risks.

Individualist personality type

These Miis are intelligent and aren't afraid to show it. They are knowledgeable about a lot and speak with confidence.

Headstrong personality type

Determined self-starters who don't let anyone stand in their way. They make their own path and execute plans quickly.

Is there a personality compatibility system?

The good news is that Tomodachi Life Living the Dream doesn't have a compatibility system when it comes to Miis' personality types. So your Miis personalities won't affect romance or friendships. Relationships between Miis are instead dictated by their chosen dating preference and are also influenced by the real-life relationship options that you have the opportunity to decide on when making your Miis.

In terms of personality, romance and friendships are random. So feel free to pick and choose any kind of personality that you desire without worries, folks.
