How to find Silver in Subnautica 2

Subnautica 2 gameplay

Silver may not ward off the evils lurking in the oceans of Subnautica 2, but it's a valuable ingredient, especially in the early game. Knowing where to find it is the difference between coming back for air often and exploring in depth (pun only slightly intended).

Silver isn't as easy to find as some of the other resources, and we only stumbled upon it at some distance from the Lifepod. Luckily for anyone looking to get the most out of the game, though, it's easy to find it if you know where to look. Here are the locations where we found Silver in Subnautica 2.

The first spot where we found Silver in Subnautica 2 is by the Old Habitat. NoA will alert you to it once you get close enough, but it's around 367 meters north of the Lifepod. Two small deposits sit near an Oxygen Tunic at 40 meters deep, plus some by the tunnel strewn with Jelly Leis. Be careful: some annoying Nibbler Mango swim here.

Look for an opening on the left side of the tunnel. Go through the gap, then swim down and turn around to find the entrance to Sophie Boucher's Bunker, complete with a Biobed for more inventory space. There's also more Silver here, making this a near-mandatory stop.

To easily tell Silver and Titanium apart, keep in mind that Silver is pointy and sharp, while Titanium looks blocky and blunt. That way, you won't accidentally fill your pockets with Titanium while scavenging to make a new air tank—especially now that you likely have the last ingredient you need.

  • Two Silver
  • Two Titanium—found commonly on the seabed in shallow waters; is plentiful near the Lifepod.
  • One Rubber—requires two Lucifer Rotsack, easy to find near the Welcome Center.

Both Titanium and Rubber are plentiful in the "Safe Shallows" (to honor the name of the starting biome in the original Subnautica), so you should have plenty of those by now. The Standard Air Tank bumps your Oxygen to 75, par for the course for the franchise, which is already a significant improvement. Don't ditch yours once you're done using it, though: the Standard Air Tank is required to get the next upgrade.
